Who are we?

The East Riding Food Poverty Alliance (ERFPA) is a partnership of Food charities, voluntary and community sector organisations. The Alliance aims to identify the actions needed to improve local support for people living in food poverty across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Together we stand united against Food Poverty.

ERFPA was set up in June 2020 and is supported by Community Vision (Formally ERVAS), who is the appointed Locally Trust Organisation for the alliance. In line with its Strategic Plan, in 2023 ERFPA registered as a Charity with the Charity Commission. Charity Number 1201789

The alliance meets on a monthly basis to discuss emerging food poverty issues across the county, to share knowledge of best practice and work towards our vision which is:

We have created a Collaborative Action Plan will work towards a 3 Course set of long term aims that we aim to achieve working together on a local level:

1st Course – Promote a consistent, joined-up and coordinated strategic approach to tackling food poverty.

2nd Course – Prevent Food Waste and make better use of surplus food to ensure healthy, affordable and sustainable food for all.

3rd Course – Provide Enhanced Emergency Food Crisis support with a resilient network across the East Riding.
